Introduction : Accepted Construction Materials, Packaging Materials and Non-Food Chemical Products

This is a current list of materials and non food chemicals which have been found by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to be acceptable for use in registered establishments operating under the authority of the Agency. The list includes the reference number, the name of the product, its use, name of the manufacturer or distributor, and the date of acceptance.

The inclusion of the name of the material or product in this list is not to be construed as an endorsement for that product by the Agency.

The continued use of any of the materials or products is contingent upon their acceptability to all concerned in keeping with the terms of acceptance.

The primary purpose of this publication is to provide a ready reference for both inspection personnel and representatives of the managerial staff of establishments, to indicate acceptance status for materials or products intended for use in establishments. This listing facilitates compliance of materials and products with the standards, to achieve a satisfactory hygienic physical environment.

When a new material or product has been found acceptable, following the review of the company submission, an acceptance letter is forwarded to the applicant. All problems encountered with accepted materials or products in establishments are to be fully documented, including the complete identification of the material or the product which requires the name and address of the manufacturer or distributor and brand name or number of the item.
