Monsanto Canada Inc.'s Roundup Ready® Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) Events J101 and J163

This Product has been approved by the CFIA for unconfined release into the environment and for use as livestock feed. It has also been approved by Health Canada for use as a novel food. The CFIA and Health Canada have posted on their Internet sites decision documents that describe their assessments. These documents describe how these two regulatory authorities assessed the safety of the Product and the conclusions they reached.

You may also wish to view the non-technical comments¹ submitted during the 60-day public comment period, along with the CFIA’s and Health Canada’s response to the common issues raised in those comments.
