During a stop in Montreal on February 23, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and Minister for the Canadian Wheat Board, Chuck Strahl gave a speech to approximately 1000 participants attending La Coop Fédérée's annual meeting. The following day Minister Strahl toured AAFC's Food Research and Development Centre (FRDC) and met with employees of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) at their Saint Hyacinthe Laboratory.
