Introduction

The Genetics Marketing Program is a key component in reorienting the livestock industry to meet the challenges in a post-BSE environment. The Program is designed to support the market development efforts of the dairy genetics and other ruminant sectors with the goal of helping industry penetrate traditional and non-traditional markets as well as redeveloping export markets.

The Genetics Marketing Program provides funding to support activities that improve market access, gain recognition and build markets, and enhance capacity that responds to identified industry needs.

In this way, the Canadian livestock genetics industry sector will benefit from improved access to global markets, and will strengthen its ability to increase international sales.
