Guilty Pleas Entered For Violation of Feeds Act

On February 3, 2006, Bart Baczuk entered guilty pleas on four counts in provincial court in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for violating the Feeds Act.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) investigated Baczuk for selling unregistered feed products in contravention of the Act. Baczuk was fined a total of $3,000 on two violation counts from Alberta and two counts from Saskatchewan.

The CFIA is responsible for enforcing a variety of federal legislation including the Feeds Act and its regulations. It protects consumers by contributing to food safety, the protection of plants and the health of animals in Canada.
