Les Fruits de Mer Intercontinental Inc. Fined $8,000On March 21, 2006, Les Fruits de Mer Intercontinental Inc. of St-Hilaire entered a guilty plea and was convicted of two charges for having committed an offence under the Fish Inspection Regulations. On June 28, 2000, and July 12, 2005, Les Fruits de Mer Intercontinental Inc. exported fish and stored fish for export without being a registered establishment, in violation of subsection 14(1) of the Fish Inspection Regulations, C.R.C., c. 802. Justice Renaud of the Court of Quebec sentenced the defendant to pay an $8,000 fine within six months and ordered the confiscation of the seized goods. The judgment was rendered on March 21, 2006, at the St Hyacinthe courthouse. - 30 - Information:
