Ocean Seafood Company (602390 Ontario Ltd) Fined $5,000On May 4, 2006, Ocean Seafood Company of Scarborough, was convicted on one count of having violated the Meat Inspection Act. On September 8, 2004, Ocean Seafood Company sent, from Ontario to Quebec, meat products that were not prepared or stored in a registered establishment operated in accordance with paragraph 8(a) of the Meat Inspection Act, R.S.C. (1985), c. F-12. Mr. Justice Dumas of the Court of Quebec ordered the defendant to pay a fine of $5,000 plus court costs within 90 days, and ordered the forfeiture of the seized items.
