ALLERGY ALERTUNDECLARED EGG AND WHEAT IN MANGO ROLL W/STICKY RICEOTTAWA, March 10, 2006 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and T & T Supermarket are warning people with allergies to egg and wheat proteins not to consume the Mango Roll W/Sticky Rice described below. The affected product contains egg and wheat proteins which are not declared on the label. The affected product, Mango Roll W/Sticky Rice, is sold in package of 2 rolls bearing the UPC 0 776703 245627. All best before codes are affected by this alert. This product has been distributed in T & T Supermarket stores in British Columbia and Alberta. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to egg or wheat proteins. The manufacturer, T & T Supermarket, Richmond, British Columbia, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
