ALLERGY ALERTUNDECLARED MILK PROTEIN IN VARIOUS GOLDEN WHEAT PRODUCTSRelated Alerts: 2006-04-19 | 2006-04-28 OTTAWA, April 19, 2006 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Golden Wheat Products are warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume the affected Golden Wheat products described below. These products contain milk protein which is not declared on the label. The following Golden Wheat products, bearing best before dates up to and including 11 MA (May 11, 2006) are affected by this alert. This code is located on the plastic closure.
These products have been distributed in Ontario and Quebec. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products. Consumption of this these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein. The manufacturer, Golden Wheat Products, Ville Mercier, Quebec, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
