Les Aliments Morales Ltée Fined

Les Aliments Morales Ltée, located in Montreal,
has been convicted of removing goods seized without the authority of an
inspector; a violation of subsection 24(2) of the Food and Drugs
Act.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency inspector had seized bottled drinks of
various flavours because the labels did not bear a common name or a list of
ingredients in French, a violation of subsection B.01.012(2) of the Food
and Drug Regulations.
On May 17, 2004, Madam Justice Raymonde Verreault of the Court of Quebec
sentenced Les Aliments Morales to pay a $2,000 fine and
ordered the confiscation and destruction of the seized goods.
