ALLERGY ALERTUNDECLARED MILK PROTEIN IN X.24.7 XLC DRINK ME! ORANGE CREAM COCKTAILOTTAWA, September 24, 2004 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Watermark Beverages Inc. are warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume X.24.7 XLC DRINK ME! Orange Cream Cocktail. The affected product may contain milk protein which is not declared on the labels. This alert is of concern to those individuals who have allergies to milk protein. X.24.7 XLC DRINK ME! Orange Cream Cocktail is sold in 355 ml bottles which bear lot number 04232 coded on the neck of the bottle in black ink. Bottles of this product which clearly mention the presence of milk ingredients are not affected by this alert. Consumers are encouraged to read the ingredient listing. The Importer Watermark Beverages Inc., Vancouver, BC is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. This product imported from USA is known to have been distributed in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein. There are no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
