Improper Labelling
I.D. Foods Fined $6000

I.D. Foods Corporation, which has an office in Laval, entered a guilty plea on both counts of a charge of selling chocolate bars labelled in a manner likely to create an erroneous impression regarding the composition and safety of the bars, contrary to section 5(1) of the Food and Drugs Act.

On March 17, 2005, Judge Louise Villemure of the Court of Quebec sentenced the company to pay a $6000 fine within 60 days and ordered the confiscation and destruction of the seized goods.
