Interprovincial Meat Trade: CMC Inc. Fined $5,000

CMC Inc. of Markham, Ontario, was found guilty of one charge under the Meat Inspection Act for having shipped meat products that had not been prepared or stored at a federally registered establishment from Ontario to Quebec .

In his decision handed down at the Montreal courthouse on September 6, 2005, Quebec Court Judge Pierre Fortin ordered the company to pay a $5,000 fine within six months.
