ALLERGY ALERTUNDECLARED MILK PROTEIN IN ENGLISH B BRAND "CHOC. \ PA. COOK." (CHOCOLATE PECAN COOKIE)OTTAWA, November 22, 2005 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Briska Inc. are warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume the EnglishB brand "Choc. \ Pa.Cook." (chocolate pecan cookie). The affected product contains milk protein which is not declared on the label. The product, EnglishB brand "Choc. \ Pa. Cook."(chocolate pecan cookie), is sold in 42 g packages bearing a UPC beginning with 212960 XXXXX. The affected product is packaged at the retailer premises and other sizes may have been packaged. This product has been distributed in Quebec in Metro chain stores and in Richelieu chain stores. There has been no reported illness associated with the consumption of this product. Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein. Briska Inc. is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace.
