NEW FUNDING WITH NO APPLICATION DEADLINE: THE UPDATED NATIONAL FARM STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM

Prairie producers with a reviewed Environmental Farm Plan (EFP) now can apply at anytime for funding to put their stewardship plans into action. Application deadlines are removed from the National Farm Stewardship Program (NFSP) in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, allowing faster review and approval of projects. Apply now: start work on your projects this summer!

NFSP provides producers with technical assistance and up to $30,000 in financial support to implement Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) projects. These projects maintain or even improve the quality of soil, water, air and biodiversity for generations to come. With project cost-sharing available, it makes improving environmental stewardship more cost effective for Prairie farmers and ranchers.

Wetland restoration, improved silage storage and anaerobic bio-digesters are a few examples of the new BMP practices helping support the long-term economic and environmental viability of Canada's agriculture industry.
