> MCDC organizational structure Direction for the Centre's operation is provided by the following groups:
- The Agreement Management Committee (AMC) is the main governing body of the Centre. It is responsible for
managing the Centre Operating Agreement. This committee has equal representation from MHPEC, Canada and Manitoba.
- The Industry Advisory Council advises the AMC on the development and implementation of projects, programs
and policies at the Centre. This group provides a forum for producers, industry and other stakeholders to bring forward ideas
on the Centre's role in development of the irrigation agricultural industry in Manitoba. Membership of this group is composed
of representatives from each of the local site Advisory Groups for all five sites, as well as representatives from MHPEC partners.
- The Technical Advisory Committee responds to the direction of the Industry Advisory Council in providing
technical advice on the programs on MCDC. Its members come from the agricultural sector, industry, Agriculture and Agri-Food
Canada and Manitoba Agriculture. This group provides the technical advice to the IAC on the feasibility and value of proposals,
as well as providing continuity to federal, provincial and industry programs.
- A Site Advisory Group has been formed at each location to provide input and direction on the site activities.
These groups have representation from a wide range of commodities and one member from each group participates in the Industry
Advisory Council.
- The Centre manager is employed by PFRA, reporting to the Agreement Management Committee, and serves as
Executive Secretary to the Agreement Management Committee, the Industry Advisory Committee and the Technical Advisory Committee.
The Centre Manager is responsible for the operations of MCDC.
