PDF help page

A number of our documents and application forms are available for viewing in PDF format. Note: to read the PDF version you need Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 (or higher) on your system.

Download the free Adobe Reader software from Adobe's web site.

If the accessibility of PDF is a concern, you can have the file converted to HTML or ASCII text by using one of the access services provided by Adobe. For more information about using pdf fillable forms, visit our pdf form help page.

Printing high resolution maps

Printing our high-resolution maps is simple, as long as you follow a few guidelines:
  • Most systems automatically print in the "Portrait," or vertical, mode. Go to "Page Setup" and set your page for the "Landscape," or horizontal, mode.
  • Click on the PDF hyperlink beneath the map on the screen.
  • Your printable map will pop up in a new window. Click the print button to begin printing to a colour printer.

Using PDF maps in PowerPoint presentations

  • Open Powerpoint and choose a desired layout and Click OK.
  • From the menu bar select Insert, then choose Object. In the Object type list, highlight "Adobe Acrobat document" and Select "Create from file". Browse to the location of your PDF file and check the link box. Click OK. This will inset the Acrobat icon into your presentation, which links to the PDF map.
  • To view the embedded PDF file/map, double-click the Acrobat icon and this will open the map in the Acrobat Reader.
