Other projects involve sustainable hog manure management, precision farming, and developing GIS technology for local agricultural organizations. Water development projects include technical assistance for well, dugout, dam or pipeline construction, monitoring water quality and developing water conservation programs. These programs provide environmentally sound water supplies for agricultural activities. The district has many diversified agricultural activities. Cattle, hog, and poultry operations are joined by elk, ostrich, wild boar, sheep and buffalo. Many crops are grown which include wheat, flax, barley, lentils, canola, canary, potatoes and peas. Specialty products such as jams, fruits, and flowers are produced by innovative rural people. Much of the production is processed locally for various markets. Ten PFRA community pastures are managed within the Rosetown district: Mantario, Newcombe, Fairview, Monet,Coteau, Hillsburgh, Oakdale, Eagle Lake, Kindersley, Elma and Antelope Park. Approximately 25,000 head of cattle are grazed yearly on 250,000 acres of native mixed grass prairie and seeded rangeland.
