Independent review of the Canadian Grain Commission and the Canada Grain Act

An independent review of the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) and the Canada Grain Act (CGA) is now underway in response to legislation that was adopted by Parliament in 2005.  COMPAS has been contracted by the Government of Canada to conduct this review.

Key areas to be considered during this Review include (but are not limited to):

• Powers and duties of the CGC
• Governance of the CGC
• Inspection and weighing
• Grade standards and grading
• Dispute resolution mechanisms
• Grain research
• Testing methods

In the process of reviewing the CGC and the CGA, grain industry stakeholders and the general public will be asked for their input.
