2004 Greenhouse and Nursery Production Form

The Greenhouse and Nursery Production Form must be completed by all greenhouse and nursery operations. The information collected on this form will be used to identify the productive capacity of your operation and where necessary, to adjust your reference period margins to account for a productive capacity change in your farming operation.

For each applicable commodity, provide the number of productive square metres (m2).

  • Exclude all non-productive areas such as aisles, headers, and roadways.
  • If you use containers that are larger or smaller than the categories listed, use the closest category.
  • If the applicable commodity is not listed, identify the commodity and code (found in the CAIS Commodity Code list) under “Other”.
  • If you were involved in a partnership, report 100% (not just your share) of the productive area in m2. Indicate your percentage of the partnership for each year on the “Partnership Percentage” line.
  • If you submitted productive m2 for 1999 to 2003 on the Greenhouse and Nursery Production Form for the 2003 CAIS program, only complete the 2004 column for m2.

For perennials (including trees and shrubs), ensure you have reported the area used for propagation, growing on, and sales. On the “% of Saleable Perennials” line, indicate the percentage of m2 intended for sale for each year. To calculate the percent, divide the total m2 intended for sale by the total m2 reported for codes 7102 to 7129.

Note: When completing your 2004 production information on the Crop Inventory page of the Supplementary Information Form (page 2), use the same codes as those on the Greenhouse and Nursery Production Form.

Please complete the Greenhouse and Nursery Production Form and include it when submitting your 2004 CAIS Supplementary Application to the CAIS Administration. If you have already submitted your 2004 CAIS Supplementary Application, submit the Greenhouse and Nursery Production Form to the CAIS Administration by the application deadline of September 30, 2005. This will allow the Administration to process your claim more quickly. Please ensure you include your name and PIN at the top of the Productive Capacity Information Sheet and send to:
