Agricultural Products
Agricultural Products - as defined under Section 2(1) of the AMPA is:
- An animal, a plant or an animal or plant product; or
- A product, including any food or drink, that is wholly or partly derived from an animal or a plant.
The agricultural product must be:
- produced in Canada by the producer who received the initial payment during the period specified in the agreement; and
- delivered during that period to the marketing agency to be sold under a single cooperative plan.
All agricultural products are clearly defined in the price pooling agreement, when possible, based on the agricultural
product sold (ie. Soft Canada Eastern Red Winter Wheat not wheat, Great Northern Beans, not beans). The agreement also
specifies the price guarantee for each grade covered of the agricultural product (Grade 1, 2, and 3) and when applicable, the
varieties covered for each agricultural product.
