INTEGRATED ATMOSPHERIC DEPOSITION NETWORK (IADN)The Integrated Atmospheric Deposition Network (IADN) was mandated by Annex 15 of the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement (GLWQA) signed by Canada and the United States. Together with the U.S. EPA, the Meteorological Service of Canada is responsible for implementing this annex and started operating the network in 1990. The purpose of the network is to monitor concentrations of priority toxic chemicals in air and precipitation of the Great Lakes region. The network's other priorities are to determine the amounts (loadings) of these chemicals entering the lakes from the atmosphere and to determine the sources of these loadings. For an overview, please see the IADN factsheet (HTML | PDF). More information about IADN is located at the new address www.msc.ec.gc.ca/iadn. IADN data summaries are available by submitting a request form also located on the web page. Top of page
