Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization (CAIS) Program
The Canadian Agricultural Income Stabilization (CAIS) Program provides agricultural producers with income protection against both large and small declines in farm income by offering them funding in years where their production margin falls below their reference margin.

Financial Information
- Agricultural producers must pay an annual fee, which is a percentage of their protected reference margin.
- Producers who participated in the Program in 2003, 2004 or 2005 do not have to pay a fee for these program years.
Application Information
Dates and Deadlines
- The deadline to join the 2006 CAIS Program is September 30, 2006.
- The deadline to apply for a 2006 CAIS interim payment is March 31, 2007.
- The deadline to submit the 2005 Harmonized CAIS Program Information and Statement of Farming Activities for Individuals is September 30, 2006.
