A Response to Stakeholders' Comments was prepared.
In December 2002, Environment Canada published a Report of Consultation Sessions August 20th to November 4th, 2002 for those who attended the cross-Canada consultations or were thought to be subject to the Proposed Notice. The Report summarized the input Environment Canada received on its Proposed Risk Management Strategy.
The Proposed Risk Management Strategy was developed following the recommendation made by the Ministers of Environment and Health proposing the addition of several substances to the List of Toxic Substances, Schedule 1 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA 1999) on June 23, 2001. The proposed recommendation followed the publication of priority substance list assessment reports for inorganic chloramines and ammonia dissolved in water.
