Traffic Operations


What do we do...
This Section is responsible for the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices and traffic operations for the province.
  • Install and maintain highway signage, including regulatory, warning, and information signage.
  • Highway marking, including centerline, lane lines, shoulder and edge lines, and intersection marking.
  • Installation, maintenance and operation of traffic signals and flashing beacons.
  • Installation and maintenance of area lighting.
  • Installation and maintenance of Highway Information Signage System.
  • Pre-marking newly constructed roadways and intersections.
  • Administration of the Roads Act, Highway Access Regulations.
  • Administration of the entrance way installation policy.
  • Traffic operations in municipalities and areas of provincial jurisdiction.
  • Financial management of the section including contract administration, payments, tendering, purchasing and specifications.
  • Sign Shop.
