Government of Canada Privacy Statement

The Government of Canada and Business Access Canada are committed to respecting the personal privacy of individuals who visit our Web sites. This section summarizes the privacy policy and practices of this site.

• Business Access Canada does not automatically gather any personal information from you, such as your name, phone number, e-mail or street address during your visit to its Internet sites. This information is only obtained if you supply it voluntarily, usually through contacting us via e-mail, or registering in the Business Access Canada secure Supplier Registration Information (SRI) service.
• All personal information you do provide is protected under the federal Privacy Act. This means that, at the point of collection, you will be informed that your personal information is being collected, the purpose for which it is being collected and that you have a right of access to the information.
• Business Access Canada employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage. This software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of computers that have connected with their Web sites. We make no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting our site unless an attempt to damage the site has been detected.
• Business Access Canada's Contract History (CSI) application, accessible through the Business Access Canada Internet site, uses "cookies" solely to support users in the effective use of the application. When a user accesses Contract History, a "cookie" is issued to facilitate searching in the database by enabling the user to refine a search without having to re-enter the search criteria. "Cookies" are also used to determine the volume of "simple" and "expert" searches in the Contract History database and to identify which parameters in "expert" search are being selected.
• Visitor information is not disclosed to anyone except Business Access Canada personnel who need the information, e.g., to respond to a request. The information you give us will be shared with another government organization ONLY if your inquiry relates to that organization or you register in the Business Access Canada Supplier Registration Information (SRI) service. We do not use the information to create individual profiles, nor do we disclose this information to anyone outside the federal government with the exception of SRI where information may be shared with other levels of government as well. • Business Access Canada is a participant in the GoC Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), which gives you an opportunity to communicate with the Department in a confidential manner.
