Canada's Investments in Global Health
Canada, through the
Canadian International Development Agency
(CIDA), is a leading donor to health funding in the developing world. Canada's commitments include support to
global health partnerships and multilateral institutions such as
CIDA is also engaged in a number of large bilateral and regional programs in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe,
Latin America and the Caribbean, and partnerships with national and international non-governmental organizations
(NGOs).
In the fiscal year 2004-05, CIDA disbursed a total of $878.6 million (CND) for programming in the health
