Converting PDF to HTML or ASCII Formats
The Adobe corporation, in cooperation
with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Trace
Center , has developed a tool
to help make PDF files more accessible, especially for
the visually disabled. The tool converts Adobe PDF documents
into HTML or ASCII text which can be read by a number
of common programs, namely screen reading programs that
synthesize text as audible speech.
To convert Adobe PDF files, send an email to one of the following addresses and include either the URL or the actual PDF document:
pdf2txt@sun.trace.wisc.edu
(ASCII)
pdf2html@sun.trace.wisc.edu
(HTML)
The translated PDF file will be mailed back in a few minutes.
