Common Classification SystemThe Government of Canada uses a system of alpha-numeric codes to classify the services it purchases. Services related to goods (eg: installation, repair, overhaul) are included. These lists may be downloaded from our site in either Lotus 1-2-3 or ASCII (see below). The listings begin with the highest level code and description in the first column. The next column contains alpha-numeric codes and the next-level descriptions. The last columns give further sub-number codes and their descriptions. See the hierarchical example below: R —Professional, Administrative and Management Support Services R0 —Professional Services R001 —Specification Development Services R001A —Business Systems To download the lists, click on the appropriate link below and a window will appear on your screen with the choice of saving or opening the file. Make your selection and click on the "OK" button.
