Government On-Line Projects
Government On-Line was allotted $880M over six years. These monies were used to:
- support the development of the secure infrastructure
- accelerate on-line service delivery by contributing to relevant projects of participating departments and agencies
- advance policy work in relevant areas such as privacy and security
- design and develop gateways and clusters, the client-centric interface to the Government of Canada on-line services
The selection of projects granted central funding was done through rigorous processes comprised of meeting pre-defined criteria and peer review. The goal was to ensure that selected projects would contribute to the achievement of the initiative objectives and align with the broader Government of Canada agenda.
