New SELECT code revisions provide improvements for the selection of heritage conservation services.

SELECT, the sourcing system for consultants and construction services has been revised to improve access to heritage conservation consultants and heritage trade specialists.

SELECT is a database of approved firms providing Construction, Architectural and Engineering services as well as related Maintenance and Consulting services. It is used by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) to invite firms to bid on Real Property opportunities for Consulting up to $84,000 and for Construction up to $100,000.

PWGSC is a custodian of 138 designated heritage buildings and also provides services to other government departments that are responsible for many other designated heritage buildings.

Changes to SELECT now provide greater access to the most appropriate skills and capacity available in the heritage community for heritage related work. Heritage conservation consultants and heritage trade specialists can register in categories specific to their specialized skills in heritage conservation.

Changes have been made to Discipline Codes, Experience Profiles and Trade Codes. No revisions have been made to the SELECT process.
