Real Property Services
For Tender and As-Built only

Project Name

Quality Control Requirement
Acceptable
1
Civil Site plan in metres (1 drawing unit = 1 m); Building/Structure plans and details in millimetres (1 drawing unit = 1 mm).
2
Layout of Dimensioning follows CSA Standards.
3
Line work is drafted at varied line thicknesses to clarify and distinguish graphics.
4
Use of Major Headings (Indicator Bubbles) and scales for each drawing portion - verify indicator bubbles.
5
North Arrow on plan view (upper right preference); Key map in title sheet to locate work.
6
Proper Structural Grid notation; letters on horizontal, numbers on vertical, no “0” “O” or “I”.
7
Establish clearly marked Benchmark/Control Point with description and elevation on plans/site plans. Real World Grid Coordinates System used on plans/site plans. Reference Coordinates System noted on plans with conversion factor wherever applicable. - FOR CIVIL PROJECTS ONLY.
8
Express slope using correct numerical ratio; arrows point up slopes except drains.
9
Titleblock information/Drawing Notes are correctly entered on drawings (i.e. As Built, Project Number).
10
Legend and Schedules used to facilitate understanding of symbology and items lists.
11
Proper use of text heights (2.0 mm minimum).
12
CAD Drawing is modelled at full scale; Annotation, Dimensioning and Hatching scaled accordingly to match final viewport or block insertion scaling.
13
PWGSC Title sheet inserted at (0, 0, 0) with scale factor of 1 and plotted at scale of 1:1 in paperspace. DO NOT EXPLODE BLOCK.
14
No External Referencing allowed; External Referenced drawing files must be bound as block - for final Tender and As-Built drawings.
15
Drawing must be fully purged; no extraneous drawing entities “out in space” (Unused layers, Unused blocks, Extra Layouts, etc.). Any items that cannot be purged should be noted in “README” Layer.
16
>95% linework that should be ortho and joined must have no dangles or overlaps.
17
Drawing file names follow correct naming scheme, i.e. project no.-sheet no.
18
One drawing per CADD file with no unnecessary frozen or off layers.
19
Use of PWGSC Standards Pen Configuration.
20
>95% of drawing entities must have colour and line type “Bylayer”.
21
Use of PWGSC Layering Standards.
22
Only the AutoCAD Standards Fonts are used in the drawing. Non-Standards Fonts used in Consultant’s Logo to be noted in “README” Layer.
23
Linetype scaling set up correctly i.e. ltscale/psltscale/measurement variables.
