Contract Services

By joining DCC's Contract Services Division (CSD), you can be part of a team that is the key link between DND and Canada's top contractors and suppliers. Contracting officers are responsible for meeting the client's requirements for construction and consultant contracting. Duties include preparing all levels of procurement documents, planning and monitoring procurement activities, and recommending contracts for award. You have a college or university degree in engineering, business, law or architecture, and one year of complimentary work experience. Your strong interpersonal skills along with a high level of tact and discretion contribute to your success. Knowledge of federal government contracting policies is an asset.

National Operations Group

GETTING THE JOB DONE is what personnel in DCC's National Operations Group (NOG) take pride in. After the contract is awarded, it is NOG's engineers, engineering technicians and technologists, environmental scientists and experienced tradespeople that make things happen for the client. Specific roles with NOG can include: area engineer, technical advisor, contract co-ordinator, contract manager, construction manager, site manager and project engineer. All positions require knowledge of the construction and consulting industry, and a certificate or university degree in the engineering or construction fields. Professional designations such as a P.Eng or a PMP accreditation are an asset as well as knowledge of ISO procedures, alternative dispute resolution processes and familiarity with DND operations.

Senior management positions with NOG demand seven to ten years experience, an entrepreneurial attitude, and proven leadership abilities. You are an individual who enjoys being responsible for a team's success and for upholding client satisfaction. Candidates will have the ability to manage large construction projects throughout all phases, from the pre-planning to post-handover. Senior positions with NOG involve extensive client interaction, and candidates must have a strong business sense and solid interpersonal skills.

Environmental Services

Rapid growth of the DCC environmental service line continues, and we need people that can think strategically and have the energy to fuel this growth. Our work takes us to some of Canada's most challenging environmental projects, including the DEW Line Clean-Up. We look for university graduates in engineering, environmental science or a related discipline, who have three to eight years relevant work experience along with knowledge of federal and provincial environmental regulations. Varying levels of experience are required for different positions and some roles include; environmental co-ordinator, environmental engineer, environmental program manager, environmental scientists and technicians. Examples of duties can include; environmental management planning, monitoring, reporting, auditing, environmental assessments, site assessments and site delineations.

Corporate Services

In the business of running the business is the mantra of DCC's Corporate Services Group. Serving the needs of internal clients, Corporate Services is responsible for the overall management of DCC. There are opportunities to apply your general accounting knowledge in our finance department, to develop awareness with your communications expertise, to fuel the team spirit with your knowledge of human resources, or to show off your technical wizardry in our IT department. You are a college or university graduate, have knowledge of trends and policy in your area and a minimum of three to five years experience in a relevant field.

Administration

A key role in keeping our office operations humming, our administrative assistants are experts at providing support to senior management and business groups at DCC. With a professional demeanour and sense of enthusiasm, you enjoy being a critical component of a busy team. Candidates should have intermediate administrative skills as well as a complimentary mix of education and career experience. Work experience in the construction and consultant industry, or in a similar business is an asset.
