PRODUCTIVE CAPACITY INFORMATION

This Productive Capacity Information Sheet must be completed by all B.C. Apple Producers. The CAIS Administration uses the information on this sheet to adjust the reference year production margins, where necessary, to determine and account for any structural change that may have occurred on the farming operation.

Note: Indicate the number of acres (owned, rented, and your share of crop share acres if you are a tenant) for this operation for the applicable years (1999-2004). If you are a partner, report 100% of the acreage. Enter the acres of apple trees for each year, in the appropriate category, based on age and density as described below.

Inventory Description/ Tree Age

Apples, Non-Bearing – the number of acres of trees from which you would not expect to harvest fruit in that year. This would not include trees that did not produce fruit due to circumstances beyond your control, such as frost. It would include replanted trees that were not yet producing harvestable fruit in that year.

Apples, 1 st year of fruit production – the number of acres of trees from which you would expect to harvest the first year of fruit.

Apples, 2 nd to 4 th year of fruit production – the number of acres of trees from which you would expect to harvest the 2 nd, 3 rd, and 4 th years of fruit.

Apples, 5+ years of fruit production – the number of acres of mature trees from which you would expect to harvest the 5 th year and any additional years, of fruit.

*Planting Density

Low Density - less than 500 trees per acre.
Medium Density - between 500 and 999 trees per acre.
High Density - 1000 or more trees per acre.
