The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking motivated, responsible and reliable individuals to serve as Analysts for the Threat Management Centre, which operates on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week basis. Analysts are required to work shifts and could at times be expected to work alone on shifts, ensuring a continuous and reliable alert service and point of contact to the Service for employees and others. Analysts are responsible in coordinating effective review and analysis of various information and to coordinate an effective response pertinent to a special event and/or incident for the Service. Incumbents of these positions offer a high quality service to CSIS employees, to our partners in the intelligence community as well as to the public in both official languages.

Undergraduate degree and two (2) years related experience or a three (3) year Community College Diploma and three (3) years related experience. Any higher level of education could be recognized as related experience.

Candidates must possess a minimum of two (2) years experience in research and analysis, possess a minimum of two (2) years experience in writing reports and/or briefs and must also possess experience in providing service to the public.

Desirable:

• Experience with computer applications.
  
• Experience in working under pressure (i.e.: a crisis centre).
  
• Experience with news media.
  
• Experience conducting research on the Internet.

Furthermore, the ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and research skills; excellent interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, ability to work reliably under pressure; ability to perform effectively in an autonomous fashion; ability to work effectively as a member of a team; good knowledge of current affairs; good knowledge of international geography; good knowledge of national and international media (print, broadcast, electronic, internet); and knowledge of the demands of a shift work environment.

Candidates must have no criminal record, be drug free and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. This process involves a security interview, a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications as well as a polygraph examination.

Bilingual imperative (C/B/C)

$54,810 to $68,490 per year. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
