The Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is seeking three experienced technologists to work in Scientific & Technical Services (STS) in Toronto.

Under the direction of the Head, STS, the incumbent is responsible for the following:

• Install and maintain varied and complex technical equipment.
  
  
• Liaise with counterparts and act as a resource providing advice on a diverse spectrum of technical matters.
  
  
• Evaluate and recommend commercially available equipment.
  
  
• Liaise with local agencies, carrier companies and local vendors to ensure continuing cooperation in technical matters.

Undergraduate degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering and four (4) years related experience;

OR

Community College Diploma three (3) year in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering Technology and five (5) years related experience;

OR

Certification as an Engineering Technologist in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering and four (4) years related experience.

Candidates must possess a high degree of manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude in electronics, mechanical engineering, computer sciences or imaging disciplines.

Extensive experience in the application of one or more of these disciplines in a security, police , military or telecommunications environment is an asset.

Technologists must be able to work effectively on a team and be willing to travel on short notices. Less experienced technologists may be placed in developmental positions.

Demonstrated experience as a technologist or technician and experience in managing projects.

Possess a valid Canadian, Class “G”, drivers licence.

Canadian citizens residing in Canada.

Candidates must have no criminal record, be drug free and able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. This process involves a security interview, a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications as well as a polygraph examination.

English Essential

$54,810 to $78,440 per year. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
