A legacy for future generations, The Long Term Vision and Plan

Introduction

Renewing A Canadian Treasure

Over the next 25 years, all of the cherished buildings in the Parliamentary Precinct will be carefully restored and renewed to meet the demands of a new century. In addition, a new building and a number of infill structures will be constructed within the Precinct to provide office space for growing numbers of parliamentarians and to house more of the committee rooms that have come to play such a vital role in national decision-making.

Guided by a Long-Term Vision and Plan (LTVP), the Precinct's transformation will make it an even more welcoming, convenient place for visitors, while ensuring that our elected representatives can carry out their work safely and efficiently. While the broad outlines for renewal are set, the LTVP is a living plan that will change in many small ways in the years ahead.
