RVH introduces new Strategic Plan – MY CARE 2013-2020

On June 17 Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre launched its dynamic new Strategic Plan. Shaped by the voices of over 3,000 people who care about the future of healthcare in our region, this plan will act as a roadmap to guide RVH over the next five to seven years.

Led by a relentless commitment to safety and quality, with an eye to advancing innovation, learning and research, RVH will accelerate to the next level of excellence - raising the bar to bring exceptional care close to home for residents throughout Simcoe Muskoka

It is a plan rooted in a philosophy we call “MY CARE”. RVH has put a stake in the ground and said every patient has a right to expect the best possible experience in our health centre. Always. Every day. And without exception. And that laser-like focus on our patients and their families will ensure we not only meet their needs, but exceed their expectations. They will be partners in their care and involved in planning and decision-making every step of their healthcare journey.

Our vision is bold, our focus is clear and our plan is achievable.

RVH Accountability

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is accountable to our patients, our communities, the North Simcoe Muskoka Health Integration Network and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. It is in that spirit of openness that RVH fully shares many elements of its performance, including wait times, safety indicators, our Quality Improvement Plan and procurement and expense policies. RVH believes this transparency will enhance safe, quality care, improve the patient and family experience and strengthen the public’s confidence in our hospital.

Many documents and data can be found in the Transparency and Accountability section of this website.

RVH opens "Smart" ORs

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) will open two new high-tech operating rooms (ORs) on September 30, bringing the total number of ORs from eight to 10 and introducing the latest in surgical technology to the region.

These new “Smart” ORs will allow better access to care for Simcoe Muskoka residents and further enhance RVH’s commitment to drive clinical excellence. In addition to the two new ORs, a third existing operating room was also converted to a “Smart OR”. These advanced suites are digitally integrated so patient information is right at the surgeons’ fingertips.

“Cancer screening tests are very important because they can help find cancers early, often before a person has any signs or symptoms. Cancer screening tests save lives,” says Dr. Danusia Gzik, Regional Primary Care Lead, Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Program.

Ladies, you're invited to get screened

October is breast and cervical cancer awareness month and the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Program at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is partnering with local salons to raise awareness of the importance of cancer screening.
