Protective Policing

ORGANIZATION

Directs the planning, implementation, administration and monitoring of the RCMP national Protective Security Program for the:

• Governor General, his/her family and residences
• Prime Minister, his family and residences
• federal Cabinet ministers and their residences
• Supreme and Federal Court judges and their residences
• members of Parliament, senators, visiting heads of state, foreign diplomats in Canada and their residences
• internationally protected persons (IPP)
• persons designated by the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada as requiring security.

Prime Minister’s Protection Detail

Provides personal security to the Prime Minister and his family, protects the official residences, and when the Prime Minister travels abroad, ensures that the security measures provided by the host country meet Canadian standards.

Canadian Air Carrier Protective Program (CACPP)

This Program provides specialized Aircraft Protective Officers (APO) aboard selected International and domestic flights. The Canadian Air Carrier Protective Program was established by the RCMP is conjunction with Transport Canada.
