Course Objectives
The Advanced Project Management course aims to provide the students
with the following:
- solid coverage of the field
- knowledge of emerging trends
- knowledge of important publications, professional bodies, etc.
- ability to dissect existing projects and make recommendations
for improvement
- understanding of current industrial PM practices
- understanding of the Federal Government context vis-à-vis
PM
- sleuthing ability to ferret out PM problems, forensic PMing

Course Description
Identifies the role of the Project Manager and the integration
of the major components controlling all major projects: the business
case; re-engineering of the business processes; organization processes
and technical processes; the detailed controls necessary to manage
each phase of the System Development Life Cycle through formal configuration
baseline management. Managing both the contract and the customer
expectations. Stresses the necessity of awareness of aligning technical
capabilities with the organization's strategic objectives. The post-mortem
of a major project.
Course Format
If you cannot attend your class for any reason, you must pick up
the missing materials yourself. Second-source yourself where ever
possible. In the event that the TA is UWO-based, please be prepared
