SUMMARY: For Penitentiary Staff and Offenders serving time in Dorchester only. We will be holding an afternoon of dialogue amongst the various faith traditions represented, sharing thoughts of justice and reconciliation from the various faith perspectives.

TITLE OF EVENT: Beyond Theory: Assessing Restorative Justice in Practice

SUMMARY: This event will launch a five-year research initiative focused on the Nova Scotia Restorative Justice Program. In particular, this research will explore five themes related to practices of Restorative Justice: institutionalization: translating principles into practice; community; diversity and equity; gender; and conceptualizing and measuring success. This research will be done by the Nova Scotia Restorative Justice Community University Research Alliance, which is supported through a funding grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
