What is The Institute?

Since 1992, The Institute has been providing Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) education, professional development and training to government professionals. In partnership with post-secondary educational institutions, The Institute has developed an ICT government-specific curriculum for both technical and non-technical public sector employees. This curriculum will help departments meet their Government On-Line (GOL) objectives, facilitate the acquisition of skills and expertise required to improve services to Canadians, as well as provide continuous learning and professional development opportunities for employees. An E-Learning Gateway allows users to access more than 900 ICT courses on the web. The Institute has developed seminars and workshops on current areas of critical importance to government, such as Risk Management, Internet Law and IT Infrastructure Library.

The Institute's partners include the Association of Public Sector Information Professionals (DPI). Group discounts and on-line courses are also available.

Leveraging Knowledge Sharing!

The Institute is an integral part of The E-Government Knowledge Centre. The Centre has recently been created to offer end-to-end Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) knowledge sharing programs and services designed to assist public sector organizations in the implementation of E-Government initiatives.
