The demand for e-Learning within the Government has grown rapidly since its inception in the early 1990's. The two main e-learning drivers are accessibility and affordability. In the face of continually rising training costs, e-learning strategies are very attractive when considering potential cost savings in the order of 80% compared with classical training approaches.

Audience
The Institute (Knowledge Center Directorate, PWGSC) is offering this new service, as part of a community-wide initiative, which initially included twelve departments. The Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) E-Learning Gateway On-Line Program is for public servants who want to enhance their IT competencies at their own pace, at anytime and from anywhere.
