Immigration Consultant Charged

(Toronto, ON - May 5, 2006) - On May 4, 2006, members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Toronto West Immigration and Passport Section charged Cuong Tu (Victor) LE, age 43, with two counts of Misrepresentation contrary to Section 127 (b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Mr. LE is President of Global Immigration Consulting Group Inc., University Ave., Toronto.

The RCMP alleges that Mr. LE provided Immigration officials with false information on two different Canadian Permanent Resident sponsorship applications. Police are also alleging that Mr. LE attached false letters of employment to these sponsorship applications claiming that the sponsors had an income. An income is a requirement to sponsor a Foreign National into Canada.

Mr. LE was released pending his court date at Old City Hall in Toronto on July 7, 2006. The RCMP Toronto West Immigration and Passport Section is continuing its investigation into the allegations against Mr. LE.
