Members of the Commercial Crime Section are involved in investigations related to bankruptcy, counterfeit currency, frauds against the federal government and other types of white-collar crime at the local, regional, provincial, national and international levels. Included in this section is the Counterfeit Program, which focuses on suppressing the manufacture and distribution, within Canada, of counterfeit money, tokens of value, federally issued negotiable instruments and payment cards. There are Commercial Crime Sections at the NES District detachments in Windsor, Sudbury, London, Kingston, Kitchener and Hamilton/Niagara Region as well as at the GTA District locations in Milton and Newmarket.
The members of this section focuses on commercial smuggling enterprises by investigating the illicit manufacture, importation, export and international transhipment of illicit or contraband goods, firearms/weapons and technology. This section is responsible for specific investigations under the Customs Act, Excise Act, Export and Import Permits Act, Excise Tax Act and the National Energy Board Act. There are sections at the NES District detachments in Windsor, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, London, Kingston, Kitchener and Hamilton/Niagara Region as well as at the GTA District locations in Milton, Newmarket and Bowmanville.
Members of this section prevent and combat illegal migrant smuggling, illegal immigration and misuse of Canadian passports and citizenship documents in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the Citizenship Act, the Canadian Passport Order and the Criminal Code of Canada. There are sections at theNES District detachments in Windsor and Hamilton/Niagara Region as well as at the GTA District locations of Milton, Bowmanville and at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.
Drug Section members work to identify, target, investigate, disrupt, and dismantle the international, national/regional, and local drug trafficking organizations that are having the most significant impact on Canada. The aim is to prevent the importation, production, traffic and use of illicit drugs. There are sections at NES District detachments in Windsor, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, London, Kingston, Kitchener and Hamilton/Niagara Region as well as at all four GTA District locations - Milton, Bowmanville, Newmarket and Toronto's Pearson International Airport.
The members of the Federal Enforcement Section combat organized crime through the enforcement of 268 different federal statutes within four programs; Consumer Protection, Environmental protection, Financial Loss to Government and Public Safety. There are sections at the NES District detachments in Windsor, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, London, Kingston, Kitchener and Hamilton/Niagara Region as well as at the GTA District locations in Milton, Newmarket and at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.
