The Institute of Aging launched its strategic and action plan in Toronto on April 26, 2002. The action plan defines the five Institute's strategic orientations and identifies five
research priorities namely: 1) healthy and successful aging; 2) biological mechanisms of aging; 3) aging and maintenance of functional autonomy; 4) cognitive impairment in aging; and 5) health services and policy relating to older people.
