CD 566-3 - Inmate Movement

Why was the policy changed?

A technical amendment has been made to paragraphs 12 and 13 of CD 566-3 - Inmate Movement in order to clarify the requirement to have a Correctional Officer present in the Health Care Centre when inmates are being treated.

What has changed?

The presence of a Correctional Officer in the Health Care Centre is normally required following escort of an inmate for first aid under emergency conditions.

In cases requiring emergency first aid treatment, the inmate shall be escorted to the Health Care Centre, where possible, and a Correctional Officer shall normally be present during the first aid treatment.

How was it developed?

The Assistant Deputy Commissioners of Operations, Policy, Health Care, as well as Women Offenders Sector and Legal Services were consulted on this technical amendment.
