What is new/changed?

Designation of Senior Deputy Commissioner alternate in Commissioner's Directive 551 - Special Handling Unit.

Why was the policy changed?

To allow the Commissioner to designate an alternate to the Senior Deputy Commissioner for responsibilities accorded to him or her under this directive.

How was it developed?

It was developed in consultation with Legal Services.

Expected cost?

No addional costs are anticipated.

Other impacts?

The changes will allow for greater flexibility in the designation of an alternate to the SDC for decisions pertaining to the SHU.
