Policy number and title: COMMISSIONER'S DIRECTIVE 090 - PERSONAL PROPERTY OF INMATES Why was the policy changed? To clarify computer and electronic game related items that are authorized and unauthorized to ensure fair and consistent application of the CSC policy on personal property of inmates. What has changed? Annex A on Inmate-Owned Computers and Electronic Games has been amended to clarify authorized and unauthorized computer related items. How was the policy changed? The Schedule of Allowable Computer Configurations and Related Peripherals has been modified. The following "Exceptions" paragraph found on the last page of the Annex has been deleted:

How was it developed? The revision was completed in consultation with A/ACCOP, Legal Services, Reintegration Programs, Information Technology Security, and Security. Accountabilities? CSC employees who deal directly with inmate personal property will have clearer guidelines when performing their duties. Inmates are now more accountable for the personal effects kept in their cell. Who will be affected by the policy? Inmates, offenders and CSC staff who deal directly with inmate personal property, as well as staff who conduct cell searches. Expected cost? No cost. Other impacts? None.
