Annex B of GL 566-8-1 - Letter to Inmate on Positive Indication Using Non-Intrusive Search Tools

Why was the policy changed?

The letter did not inform the inmate of his or her entitlement to make representation to the Visitor Review Board (VRB) within five (5) working days after a visitor's positive indication using non-intrusive search tools.

What has changed?

Page 2 of the letter.

How was it developed?

The new annex informs the inmate of his or her entitlement to five (5) working days from the date of the notification to make representations (verbally or in writing) on his or her visitor's behalf for consideration by the VRB in their decision.

Accountabilities?

All staff designated to conduct threat risk assessments and decisions in accordance with the Guidelines for Commissioner's Directive 566-8 - Searching of Staff and Visitors and Commissioner's Directive 770 - Visiting.

Staff, inmates and inmate visitors.
